Experts from academia, industry and regulatory bodies discussed the future of pharmaceutical education at EZCC, Kolkata_
GRS News India : Kolkata, 9th March, 2026. Pharma Anveshan 2026, organised on the occasion of National Pharmacy Education Day, was successfully held in Kolkata to commemorate the 124th birth anniversary of Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff, widely regarded as the Father of Pharmaceutical Education in India.
The programme was organised by the Pharmacy Council of India in association with Flemming College of Pharmacy under JIS Group. The event brought together leading academicians, pharmaceutical researchers, industry professionals and regulatory authorities to discuss the future of pharmaceutical education, research and innovation.
The seminar featured keynote lectures, research presentations and panel discussions focusing on strengthening collaboration between academia, industry and regulatory bodies to build a future-ready pharmaceutical ecosystem.
Among the distinguished dignitaries present at the event were Jashubhai Hirabhai Chaudhari, Vice President of the Pharmacy Council of India; Dharmendra Singh, Zonal Coordinator and EC Member of the Pharmacy Council of India; Arup Kumar Chatterjee, Deputy Drug Controller, CDSCO East Zone; Dr. R. N. Gupta, National President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association; and Tapan Kumar Choudhary, Vice President (East), IPGA.
Speaking on the occasion, Jashubhai Hirabhai Chaudhari, Vice President of the Pharmacy Council of India, said, “Pharmacy education in India is entering a transformative phase. Platforms like Pharma Anveshan help strengthen collaboration between academia, industry and regulatory bodies while encouraging young professionals to contribute to innovation and research in the pharmaceutical sector.”
Dharmendra Singh, Zonal Coordinator and EC Member of the Pharmacy Council of India, added, “Initiatives such as Pharma Anveshan play an important role in fostering dialogue among stakeholders of the pharmaceutical ecosystem. Such engagements are essential to ensure quality education, professional excellence and the future growth of the pharmacy profession in India.”
The event also provided an opportunity for students and researchers to showcase their work through scientific presentations and academic interactions, encouraging knowledge exchange and innovation in the pharmaceutical field.
Pharma Anveshan 2026 concluded with networking interactions among participants, reaffirming the shared commitment of academia, industry and regulators towards strengthening pharmaceutical education and healthcare innovation in India.
