Merlin Club Pavilion beat Adamus University SA in its first match in the U13 State Youth League

April, 2025: Merlin Club Pavilion, from Merlin Group, the leading real estate conglomerate, has trounced Adamas University SA in its first match in under 13 State Youth League organised by Indian Football Association by 2-1 margin. Merlin Club Pavilion has been qualified by the Indian Football Association (IFA) for the first time and is representing the league in the U-13 and U-15 groups for the first time.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saket Mohta, MD, Merlin Group said, “It is a great opportunity for us to host some matches of the state football league at our football ground and also to play in the prestigious State Youth League. Students of Ronaldinho (R10) Football Academy are playing in Merlin Club Pavilion teams. This league will enhance their experience and improve their skills. We hope our students will represent other IFA leagues and other championships and represent the national team in the future. We set up Merlin Rise – the Sports Republic – with an aim to develop the sporting culture of Bengal and represent the state in the national team. I feel there is no dearth of talent here. Our cricket team from Yuvraj Singh Centre for Excellence has also played in the CAB cricket championship.”
Thirty-nine clubs and academies are set to take part in the U-13 and U-15 State Youth League 2024-25, with the best 12 making it to the Super Six Round Robin League. The top teams from each group will make it to the semi-finals. The home matches of Merlin Club Pavilion will be played at the football ground of Merlin Rise.
The State Youth League comprises 10 teams under Group 1 of the U-15 and 10 teams under Group 2 of the U-15 age group. Similarly, the State Youth League comprises 10 teams under Group 1 of the U-13 age group and 9 teams under Group 2 of the U-13 age group. Merlin Club Pavilion will play in Group 2 of the U-13 age category and in Group 1 of the U-15 age category.
U-13 Age Group – The teams are divided into two (2) groups. Teams of these two groups will play among themselves in Round Robin mode. Three (3) top teams from each group will then play in the Super Six Round Robin League followed by a semi-final and final between the top four teams of the Super Six Round Robin League. Also, a third-place match will be played between the losing teams of the semi-finals. All matches for this age group will be 9-a-side games.
U-15 Age Group – The teams will be divided into two (2) groups. Teams of these two groups will play among themselves in Round Robin mode. Three (3) top teams from each group, totaling six (6) teams, will then play in the Super Six Round Robin League. Further, two (2) top teams from the Super Six Round will play the final to determine the Champion and Runners-up.
