The Confederation of Indian Industry – Indian Women Network (CII IWN) West Bengal hosted an exclusive, high-impact leadership forum titled ‘CEO Dialogues for a Sustainable Tomorrow’, bringing together visionary leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and regulatory advisors for a powerful conversation on building future-ready, sustainable businesses in India.
This landmark initiative by CII IWN reflects its ongoing commitment to empowering women leaders, fostering inclusive entrepreneurship, and creating platforms that drive real-world impact. The event marked a significant step toward addressing the challenges and opportunities that lie at the intersection of climate consciousness, capital access, regulatory readiness, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
Held in a closed-door, dialogue-led format, the forum served as a dynamic platform where industry veterans, boutique advisory firms, new-age founders, and sustainability advocates exchanged ideas, addressed challenges, and co-created viable roadmaps for responsible business growth.

Reimagining Entrepreneurship in a New India
India is now the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world, home to over 100,000 recognized startups. Yet, the ecosystem faces critical challenges around regulatory complexity, capital expenditure, long-term sustainability, and gender inclusion. In this context, ‘CEO Dialogues for a Sustainable Tomorrow’ addressed the urgent need for climate-aligned, regulation-compliant, and purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
“India stands at a transformative juncture — where climate consciousness, regulatory innovation, and inclusive entrepreneurship are no longer separate conversations, but deeply intertwined goals,” said Smita Chatterji, Chairperson, CII IWN (West Bengal). “At CII IWN, our focus is on catalyzing these conversations and enabling real change. This forum was not just about sharing ideas — it was about equipping leaders with the tools, networks, and insights they need to act.”
Adding to this, Swagata Guha Mustafi, Vice Chairperson, CII IWN (West Bengal), emphasized the need for enabling ecosystems that nurture both aspiration and accountability.
“Today’s discussions clearly show that sustainability is no longer an optional value-add — it’s a fundamental lens through which every business decision must be made,” she said. “As women leaders and changemakers, we must continue to push the narrative forward and bridge capital, capability, and conscience.”
